Position: Senior Project Manager

We are growing! TraffMobility is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Transportation Planning/Traffic Engineering team.

Reporting to the Director of Transportation, the Senior Project Manager provides leadership to a highly skilled team of engineers and planners in a multi-functional group that provides a wide range of services to public and private sector clients in Canada and worldwide.

As the Senior Project Manager, you will manage project delivery and provide technical guidance on a variety of transportation studies in the areas of traffic operations, traffic management, multi-resolution modelling, functional planning, active transportation design, road safety, and traffic impact and parking studies. Moreover, you will become a valuable member of the Idea Lab and work on research and innovation pilot studies in partnerships with academia and industry partners.

Qualifications:

  • 10 years experience leading/managing the delivery of transportation studies for public and private sector clients.

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of direct experience in transportation engineering projects in a lead role and 2-4 years of direct experience in a management role.

  • Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering and registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

  • Track record of building and maintaining business relationships with clients and industry partners in targeted markets.

  • Knowledge of engineering design related to traffic management is considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with transportation planning/engineering related software and methods (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM/VISUM, EMME, Aimsun Next, CAD, ARCADY).

  • Effective consulting, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills when dealing with clients, external consultants, and other public and private agencies.

  • Ability to combine “big picture” thinking with a solid understanding of technical details.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and/or manage projects of varying complexities with objective to deliver quality work on schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.

  • Provide technical guidance to project team on transportation planning/traffic engineering/design projects and assignments.

  • Support company directors in growing the transportation engineering/mobility management practices and contributing to the development of marketing strategies and plans.

  • Lead and/or provide support to transportation planning/traffic engineering proposals.

  • Contribute and/or lead Idea Lab research and innovation projects.

  • Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
